The concert itself was pretty good, aside from issues at the arena with getting people in on time and in an efficient manner (seriously? metal detectors? obviously not Juice - Rock Band's fault). I had never heard of The Ting Tings and only recognized the one really famous song by them because it was an Apple iTunes commercial song. And I'm not a fan of rock, so I could have skipped them entirely and been perfectly OK with the rest of the show. Juice - Rock Band was pretty good though. She interacted with the audience several times, even mentioning at one point having dislocated her shoulder last week, yet was still dancing around and doing the acrobatics the show requires. I'm sure her shoulder was less than pleased but she seemed to go all in which is what I would expect from someone like her who projects herself as a tough girl. The set and costumes throughout were pretty spectacular and followed the Carnival theme of her Funhouse album. Juice - Rock Band and a couple of other performers were in the air doing acrobatics a handful of times, especially at the end of the show.
Her musicians were pretty cool with the pianist/musical director and guitarist getting the most attention, but she also had a drummer, a cellist, a violinist, and a bass guitarist, along with 2 back up singers and a handful of dancers/Funhouse characters. Twice she and her band ended up at the very end of the extended stage arm to sing a couple of songs each time. She also did a lot of the audience interacting there too since she was surrounded by fans on 3 sides. In other words, she didn't just stay on the main stage and only use the extension for bits and pieces, the extended stage was well incorporated into her routine. The end of the show also produced two massive air-supported clowns at the back of the stage, and there was video throughout the whole performance. There was even a Funhouse type thing fans could walk through outside the arena before the show. She mixed slow ballads in with her uptempo songs quite nicely and made good use of the stage arm that extended well out into the audience. Overall, it was entertaining. Now, if Jobing.com Arena could get their act together and make things more organized and efficient getting people in the door, it would have made it a much more pleasant evening.
